About Me

Welcome to Red Barn Repurposing.  My name is Mark Femenella and ever since I was a kid, I liked to draw, paint, build models and other projects. Growing up I enjoyed small woodworking projects thanks to having access to a small work shop that my mom had put together because she enjoyed woodworking. In 2004 I moved into an old house (circa 1850) in Hyde Park, New York.  It was while fixing up and decorating this house that I was inspired to salvage and repurpose old wood and other items I found in the house and garage.  My interests in antiques, old objects and art converged.

What I lacked over the years was a permanent workshop.  That changed, thanks to a terrific local businesswoman who gave me the opportunity to build a workshop in a small, red barn just down the street from my house.

Red Barn Repurposing was born as a direct result of the many friends who encouraged me to sell my creations or offer my services to people who have items they would like to see repurposed or made into unique, decorative pieces.

In 2016 I purchased an old house (circa 1860) in Salt Point, NY and lucky for me there was a red barn on the property for me to set up shop.

So please view “My Gallery” and look over the site for additional information.
